Digital technology has changed numerous activities in the world and continues to do so. The digital revolution has already matured in developed countries however, developing countries, especially in Africa, are yet to realize the full potential of the benefits of technology. It is true that Africa has in recent years made tremendous progress from being a technological desert to a growing technological forest.

The adoption and diffusion of Information and Telecommunication Technology (ICT) in Africa is growing as evidenced by the upsurge in mobile markets and emerging innovative application in e-banking, e-business, telemedicine (e-health), e-learning, e-government, e-democracy, e-agriculture, e-procurement and more.

Workshop: International Grant-Seeking Opportunities For ICT Research

Theme: Writing Grants that Works and Win

 

This workshop is designed for anyone looking for the fundamentals of successful grant-seeking. Since many non-profit and for-profit organizations have a gap between their agencies needs and financial resources, this workshop will develop skills in designing successful grant-seeking strategies and helps attendees gain confidence in their ability to win grants. The workshop will concentrates on the practical elements of proposal planning and writing. Equally important, it will directly addresses some of the major barriers to getting grants -- overcoming inexperience, insufficient time and conflicting priorities. Of particular interest will be issues bothering on Identify funding sources, finding public and private grant, matching needs and sponsor interests making pre-proposal contacts, constructing budgets and designing readable proposals.       Participants that can benefit from this workshop include (but not limited to) executive directors, agency heads, development directs, health care professionals, grant writers, special projects directors, administrators, researchers, academia and marketing professionals.
